Cuban Food and Drink
Cuba's delicious foods can satisfy all tastes. The Havana Club rum and the Mojito cocktail stand out among Cuba's most loved drinks.
Havana is full of restaurants with Cuban food. Most of these ones are private restaurants which are called "Paladar". All of them have different dishes that include pork, beef, fish and other ones. The Cuban classic dish is congrí (rice cooked with black kidney beans), steak of pork, fried bananas and yucca. The price per dish usually is cheaper than 8 CUC, it depends on the restaurant. There are very good restaurants like Los Nardos in front of the Capitolio in Old Havana, the Flor de Loto in Centro Habana and La Paila in Vedado neighborhood.
Also there are a lot of places for drinking. The terrace of National Hotel in Vedado is a beautiful and peaceful place where you can drink a Mojito looking at the Malecón seaside street. Also La Bodeguita del Medio in Old Havana is a traditional place for drinking a Mojito. The regular price of a Mojito is between 2 and 5 CUC. Another popular drink is the Daiquiri and the most famous place for drinking one is El Floridita in Old Havana, an old bar where the writer Ernest Hemingway used to go to drink a Daiquiri. The price of a Daiquiri is 6 CUC in this place.
