Baracoa, Guantánamo

Baracoa is located in the eastern part of Cuba. It is a land of chocolate, coconuts and jungle-covered mountains. It is a wild and zany settlement that materializes like a surreal apparition. It is the Cuba´s oldest city founded in 1511. Baracoa was in relative isolation from the rest of Cuba during over 400 years until the opening of the road "La Farola" in 1964. Its premier attraction is trekking up to "El Yunque", the region’s signature flat-topped mountain.
